Annual Legislation Conference Deadline Draws Near
The "2007 PTA ADVOCACY: Strengthening our Voice" Legislation Conference registration deadline is less than a month away and the planning for another exciting conference is almost complete. The following is some general information on the conference. All housing and registration forms can be downloaded at www.capta.org under the Advocacy section.
The registration form must be received no later than January 3, 2007.

CA State PTA Legislation Conference General Information
Registration Fee
The registration for the 2007 California State PTA Legislation Conference is $150. The registration includes all conference activities and materials and the following meals: Dinner on Sunday, lunch and a reception at the Capitol on Monday. The hotel serves a complimentary full cooked-to-order breakfast daily. Travel and hotel costs are not included. The conference registration form is available on-line at www.capta.org. Travel
There are frequent flights from most Southern California airports to the Sacramento International Airport. Complimentary airport shuttle is available by calling the hotel after arrival. Valet parking is available for hotel guests the rate of $18 a day for overnight (in and out privileges are allowed) or $4 per hour with an $18 cap for non-guests. There is a city parking garage directly across the street for self-parking.
Hotel
The conference hotel is the Embassy Suites Hotel, 100 Capitol Mall. It is located on the Sacramento River, one half mile from the State Capitol and directly across from Old Sacramento and near Raley Field, home of the Sacramento River Cats. Reservations for the Embassy Suites Hotel must be made through the California State PTA. The housing form is available on-line at www.capta.org. Appointments with Legislators
Time will be provided on Monday afternoon, January 29, for your appointments with your local legislators. Please contact your representatives ahead of time to make these arrangements. You may also want to attend committee hearings or arrange for a tour of the State Capitol. This year the issues briefing by the Legislation Team will be on Sunday afternoon to help prepare for your visits with your legislator.
