PTA AWARD PROGRAMS
Two types of award programs are available to support and strengthen your PTA: Recognition Award Programs and Service Award Programs. Both focus on all of the best that PTA has to offer as a volunteer organization dedicated to making a difference in school communities.
Dynamic PTA programs enrich the lives of children, their families and their communities. That's why California State PTA and National PTA offer a number of Recognition Award Programs to celebrate the achievements of PTAs, individual members and community partners. All of these awards are designed to recognize and encourage the development of model PTA programs.
In addition, California State PTA provides Service Award Programs to honor and publicly acknowledge the outstanding community service of PTAs, our members and community partners.
RECOGNITION AWARD PROGRAMS
To recognize and encourage the development of model PTA programs
For these programs, prizes and funding are available for PTAs in good standing that submit an award-winning application showcasing a model program. Currently, our Recognition Award Programs include:
- PTA Spotlight Award
- PTA & Common Sense Media – Parent Education Award
- National PTA Jan Harp Domene Diversity and Inclusion Award
- National PTA Mary Lou Anderson Reflections Arts Enhancement Grants
- National PTA Take Your Family To School Week
- National PTA Phoebe Apperson Hearst Awards
- National PTA Shirley Igo Advocate of the Year Award
If your PTA organizes programs, activities and events to benefit student achievement, health and wellness and involvement; build PTA leadership, membership and outreach; or, enhance the community with parent engagement, advocacy and environment awareness, consider applying for a PTA recognition award.
SERVICE AWARD PROGRAMS
To say 'thank you' for the outstanding service of PTA leaders, members, volunteers, teachers and community partners to children and youth
California State PTA's Service Awards Programs for units, councils and districts include:
The Honorary Service Award (HSA) Program is especially popular because it recognizes community service in a unique and distinctive way. It is designed for PTAs to honor the dedication of individuals and organizations in their local communities for their service in benefiting students.
