1.3 million California children lack health insurance

A new report based on U.S. census data reveals that 8.6 million children in the nation lack public or private health insurance - and 1.3 million of those children are in California. The report by Families USA shows California's uninsured children rate at 12.5 percent, 12th highest in the country. Texas has the highest rate of uninsured children at 20.5 percent. The report also states that 88.2 percent of uninsured children come from families with at least one working adult.
